1.Recently, Its Chairman of the Board Wang XiaoKang took an interview by chief editor Gui Zhenhua of China Green Pictorial .He said: “I want to be the persistant cleaner in china.”

2.Recently, the Chairman of the Board Wang XiaoKang said in an interview with chief editor Gui Zhenhua of China Green Pictorial : “I want to be the most dedicated cleaner in china.”

These 2 sentences are both grammartically perfect even though I don't quite get the picture of what "cleaner” actually means here for the lack of context. Anyway, I would rather prefer the 1st than the 2nd one. The reason for this is the 2nd one is one single sentence which seems to be too long for the listenner, and the point of the statement is to try to tell the public in "....." but not whom he got interviewed. Therefore, 2 sentences is far better than one . The second one put an emphasis to clarify the main idea.

Moreover, this statement sounds like from a news reporter. If so, in ".........", I enjoy the 2nd one much better for a statement as a "big potato" only to be more polite to the public.

My advice might not be final. Other experts might be of better assistance to you, too.

Hope you enjoy your English research to better serve Old Beijing and other people.

Thanks.
