Anyway, I would rather prefer the 1st than the 2nd one. The reason for this is the 2nd one is one single sentence which seems to be too long for the listenner, and the point of the statement is to try to tell the public in "....." but not whom he got interviewed. Therefore, 2 sentences is far better than one . The second one put an emphasis to clarify the main idea.
% K1 ?( U. N U @9 uMoreover, this statement sounds like from a news reporter. If so, in ".........", I enjoy the 2nd one much better for a statement as a "big potato" only to be more polite to the public.

这两句话从语法上都没问题,尽管因为缺乏上下文的内容,我不很确切“cleaner” 在中国场景下含义为何。然而, 我还是更喜欢第一句。原因是第二句(是一个单句)对听者有些太长了。而这一段话的重点是向公众说明括弧里的内容,谁采访了他只是次要的。所以分开两句话要比一个长句好。说第二句话时强调了中心表达的内容(心里话)。我认为这句话听起来像是新闻报道,那样的话,括弧里的话,我倒是更喜欢第二句中的,作为一个“大人物”向公众表态,比较中肯礼貌(the most dedicated)。
