Deshengmen Jianlou lies to the north of the West Sea of Shisha Sea, one of three fortresses of Ming and Qing dynasty kept so far in the inner city of Beijing (the other two are Zhengyangmen Jianlou and Dongbianmen Jianlou). Built in Ming Dynasty, Deshengmen Jianlou got the praise of" army door" and was a fort leading to the north of the Great Wall from the capital. Yu Qian, a national hero of Ming Dynasty, safeguarded Beijing here. Zhenwu Temple was built in 1993 in Wengcheng, and the Ancient Coins Museum of Beijing had been established here, with China currency of past dynasties on show since then.
