Ameircans(Chinese Americans in particular)know a lot about Hutong stories in ancient capital of Beijing in their arts and history study. They become more and more interested in the news nowadays,by learning the Hutongs are being torn down to their distinction. Hutongs and compound courtyards are symbol and image of Beijing to foreign eyes. I am wondering if there is information in the CITY PLANNING telling the world that some Hutongs and the yards could possibly survive the distruction so that their names won't disappear in our lives and from the dictionaries of all kinds?
