Central and South Seas
Central and South Seas, called by a joint name of central sea and south sea, lie in the north of West Chang'an Street and in the west of the Palace Museum. It is a unit of historical relics under the protection of the municipal government of Beijing. The main building of the central sea is the Shuiyun Pavilion, a wayside pavilion in water, with a tablet of" Taiye Qiufeng" in it. It is one of the eight scenes of Beijing. The main scenery in the south sea is Yingtai, beautiful and pleasant. T The presidential palace had been set up here at the initial stage of the Republic of China. After the foundation of the People's Republic of China, the leaders of the country and the Party, such as Mao Zedong, Chou En-lai, Liu Shaoqi, and Zhu De, have lived herein.
