嵩祝寺的老照片

 北平名刹之一。为章嘉呼图克图所居，大殿及后楼之联额为清高宗之御书。寺东有法渊寺，西有智珠寺。又东为三厂遗址，三厂乃明代所设置之翻经厂、汉经厂、道
经厂。西廊下有三块铜云板，上铸“番经厂”三字。寺位于马神庙东，已颓败，但仍为章嘉驻锡之所，设有办事处，主持黄教事务<br/><br/>位于北河沿大街25号，与其西侧之<a target="_blank" href="http://baike.baidu.com/view/342126.htm">智珠寺</a>共同公布为一个北京市文物保护单位。<br/><br/>　　嵩祝寺建于清雍正十一年（1733年），为第二世章嘉胡图克图在京的驻地。康熙三十六年（1697年）命第一代章嘉居多伦汇宗寺,四十五年封灌顶法
师，掌管漠南黄教（即藏传佛教格鲁派），雍正时又令他掌管内蒙、京师、盛京、五台山、甘肃等地黄教寺院。从第二世章嘉开始，历代呼图克图（活佛）均以嵩祝
寺为主要驻地。据《日下旧闻考》卷二十九载：“法渊寺在嵩祝寺东，智珠寺在嵩祝寺西”，“明番经厂、汉经厂今为嵩祝、法渊三寺”；《京师坊巷志稿》卷三
载：嵩祝寺东有法渊寺，西有智珠寺。又东为三厂遗址；明置番、汉经厂，道经厂于此”。但据乾隆十五年《京城全图》所绘，嵩祝寺之东为番经厂、汉经厂两组大
型建筑，而嵩祝寺与两经厂之间并无可容法渊寺之地，应是将两经厂改建为法渊寺，《京师坊巷志稿》的记载不够精确。<br/>
