大钟寺建筑图释      海淀区蓟门里和双榆树之间，旧时称曾家庄，这里有一座清代寺院--觉生寺。因寺内悬挂着一口巨钟，而以大钟寺闻名遐迩。      交通：123、361、367、422、425、626、730、特8路等车可达

大钟寺坐落于北三环西路，是北京现存的一座规模比较完整的寺院。它坐北朝南，规模宏伟，布局严谨对称。由南向北建筑依次为山门、天王殿、大雄宝殿、后殿、藏经楼、东西翼楼等主体建筑，总占地面积约为三万多平方米。1957年北京市政府公布大钟寺为市级重要的文物保护单位。1996年12月被国务院公布为第四批全国重点文物保护单位。1980年2月建立大钟寺文物保管所。1985年10月5日辟为大钟寺古钟博物馆。大钟寺因永乐大钟享誉世界，永乐大钟钟身遍铸佛教经咒铭文，有汉梵两种文字，共计23万多字。
