又称腊兰、腊花、腊泉花，为萝摩科球兰属多年常绿草本植物。球兰植株多藤本状，肉质茎，茎节上有气生根，可附着于它物上生长。叶厚多肉，卵形或卵状长圆形，侧脉不明显，全缘，长5－8厘米、宽2－3厘米；叶面浓绿色，叶背浅绿带白色。花为具有短柄的伞形花序腋生，常12－15朵聚集成球形，故名球兰。盛夏开花，花白色，心部淡红色，副花冠放射呈星状，有香气。 镶边球兰：叶上有乳白色的斑，新叶有时呈粉红色，极美观。旋卷球兰：（皱叶球兰）：叶片扭卷绕于茎蔓上，形状十分奇特。还有镶边球兰的斑叶品种。其性喜主，高温高湿和半阴的环境，适宜多光照和稍干的土壤。 　　球兰用扦插繁殖。扦插时期5－9月。通常多剪取茎先端2－3节作插穗，一般的茎也可采用。节上的叶片不必摘去，也可将下节位的叶片剪去1/2。然后将插穗直接插于沙或珍珠岩培成的插床中，或在切口包以水苔，再排插于苗床中。保持基质湿润。在湿度20－25℃时，经2－3周可生根长芽。斑叶品种要尽可能选斑大而多的叶着生的节位作插穗，这样以后繁殖苗的园艺性状较好，但这些插穗生根后往往生长较缓慢。 球兰盆栽多用疏松且排水良好的腐叶土、泥炭土与粗砂或珍珠岩等混合而成的土壤，也常单用水苔种植。每盆宜种3－4株苗，盆栽须放置在间接的光照或半日阴一。光线强，可改善叶片色泽。春秋两季可让它接受日光照射，夏季必需遮阴。生长期中应经常和向叶面喷水，以增加空气湿度；保持盆土湿润。高温高湿及通风通气不良极易引起茎叶腐烂，日常管理中须加注意。一般生长季每1－2个月施肥一次；斑叶品种施肥时氮肥不宜过多，以免叶斑变绿而失去应有的观赏价值。其生长适温为18－28℃，越冬温度为5℃左右。球兰可能发生介壳虫为害，应注意防治。
